Here at Metal Injection, we are committed to bringing you all things heavy and metal to help maintain a sense of positivity. Today we're going to show you how you can throw your very own heavy metal festival at home. These incredible replicas of (in many cases) authentic gear used by Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Testament, Pantera and more will help you do just that.
Made by Italian company Electricland (committed to "Rocking Your Passion with Hand-Made Custom Miniature Guitars & Drum Kit Replicas"), their Etsy shop contains nearly 300 different miniature drum kits, guitars and a few basses from a wide range of bands. They even carry a copy of Steve Vai's indulgent JEM triple-neck guitar, which the guitarist helped design in conjunction with Ibanez in 1987, as well as a cool mini-version of Metallica guitarist and noted horror aficionado Kirk Hammett's "The Mummy" ESP. A while back, I was gifted with a mini-replica of Ozzy guitarist Randy Rhoads' most famous polka-dotted Flying V (a hybrid of a Fender and Gibson) made for Randy by luthier Karl Sandoval, and I love it.
Fun fact! Rhoads broke the famous Flying V's headstock a mere three weeks into owning it. The story goes Rhoads was utterly devastated about the damaged guitar, which slipped off of his shoulder when his guitar strap came loose, sending the guitar crashing to the floor neck first. Randy brought the guitar back to Sandoval, expecting the master luthier to be furious with him for "ruining his work." Instead, Sandoval charged Rhoads $75 bucks to fix the most recognizable Flying V in history, restoring it to its original splendor.
