ALICE IN CHAINS Announces 30th Anniversary Reissue Of Jar Of Flies

Give me that fly one.

AIC Jar

Alice In Chains has announced a multi-format 30th anniversary reissue of their critically-acclaimed 1994 EP Jar Of Flies. The EP was originally released on January 25, 1994, and here it is 30 years later standing the test of time.

In addition to a standard black 12", Alice In Chains has a bunch of formats available in their store including a clear vinyl variant with “flies" embedded in the vinyl. There's also a deluxe box set featuring the EP on tri-colored vinyl, a logo-embossed jar with touch-activated red LED and faux flies, a 60-page hardcover book, and a double-sided poster, all housed in a screen-printed, UV coated shadowbox.

And if you're not a vinyl person, there's always the limited edition apparel, a poker set, a skate deck in collaboration with Welcome Skateboards, and a "Whale & Wasp" plush toy. Get it all here.

Jar Of Flies is first EP in history to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart as it sold 141,000 copies in its first week. Jar Of Flies was also nominated for two GRAMMY awards in 1995 – Best Recording Package and Best Hard Rock Performance for the track "I Stay Away". Despite the nomination, "No Excuses" and "Nutshell" are the only two tracks in regular live rotation for Alice In Chains – "I Stay Away" has been performed twice ever.
