br-br-DENG! Today, nu-metal fans are very excited about the news that Mudvayne is reuniting for a series of festival gigs later this year. While the band has a catalog of five studio albums with some stellar jams, there's no question that their biggest track (and most memable track) is their breakthrough single "Dig."
Anybody who has seen Mudvayne late in their career know that they usually end with "Dig," but I want to make a wild suggestion – the first song they play back should be "Dig!" Imagine how nuts people will go for this kick off?
I couldn't help but go back and watch a bunch of different live clips of the band performing the earworm of a track live. Here are some of the best:
Here is a live clip from Big Day Out in Australia in 2001, where as you can see – the band kick things off with "Dig" and look how nuts everybody goes:
Once the band made it onto Ozzfest in the summer of 2001, they were mostly closing their gigs with "Dig" and man, look at how nuts everybody is going. I really miss shows.
Here is a rare performance in 2000 at CBGB's in full gear. The performance is as heavy as ever:
Here is their Rock am Ring 2001 performance, where again, they kick things off with "Dig" and the crowd goes wild…
Here's some footage of them playing the same fest in 2005, and the crowd goes even more nuts.
