Trioscapes, the jazz fusion trio launched by bassist Dan Briggs of Between the Buried and Me, took to Facebook yesterday to post the above picture along with announcing they were finishing up writing a new record which they aim to record sometime in April! The project produces some downright incredible sounds considering it's just a bass, drummer Matt Lynch and saxophonist Walter Fancourt jamming away on tunes that range from soft and melodious to terrifyingly breakneck.
Damien from Heavy Blog Is Heavy also pointed out that Between the Buried and Me seem to be taking a break this year considering the band's drummer Blake Richardson and guitarist Dustie Waring are re-involved with their old project Glass Casket and frontman Tommy Rogers is focused on a follow-up solo records under the moniker Thomas Giles. Obviously that's not saying they won't reconvene later on this year to start up writing a new record, and they're certainly planning on touring with Deafheaven, Intronaut and The Kindred. So there's no lack of presence from the band… just a lot of off-shoot-ness going on.
