Over the weekend, Slash revealed to some random reporter in Europe that he and Axl Rose are on friendly terms again. Naturally, this led us to speculate that the chances of a full-on GNR reunion are now more possible than ever, seeing as though Axl needs a new guitarist since a few of his left and Slash can always use a new paying gig.
Now, naturally the rumors are flying.
According to the Pulse of Radio, Australian club owner, James Young, told Triple M Radio:
"I heard the most amazing rumor this week, from a very well-informed heavy hitter in the Australian music industry, giving me the name of the headline act for Soundwave next year… So what mega band could it be? Well I have 'fantasized' on Wednesday night that it will be: Steven Adler, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan, Slash and Axl Rose, the reformation of the original 1987 'Appetite For Destruction' GUNS N' ROSES lineup."
I'm a little confused about 'fantasized' and the quotes around it, is this just him guessing or what?
Besides this one Australian reporter, we have heard murmurs of our own about a possible reunion from people who work in other aspects of the industry although nobody would talk on the record due to NDAs.
It's safe to say this isn't the last we've heard of this.
