Psychologists Take The Stand In Day 5 Of LAMB OF GOD Frontman Randy Blythe's Czech Trial

In what is perhaps Randy Blythe's penultimate day in court, the Lamb of God frontman had to witness testimony from a psychiatrist and a psychologist today before the court adjourned. Blythe is on trial for charges of manslaughter stemming from a 2010 concert in Prague, where the prosecution alleges he pushed a fan, Daniel Nosek, and Nosek sustained injuries from that push which led to his death a month later. His trial began last month (read our full recap here) but was delayed due to certain witnesses being unable to attend at the time. Yesterday, Blythe released a statement saying he was ready for this to be over, one way or another and today was one step closer to finality.

Five people took the stand today, a psychologist, a psychiatrist, a security guard and two fans who attended the show.

Blythe underwent a series of stress tests and today the results of those tests were presented to the court. According to WTVR, the judge said both their findings looked to be the same, however, when taking the stand the two doctors disagreed on Blythe's agressive nature and his anti-social behavior.

The criminal psychologist, Tereza Soukupova (appointed by the court) said that Blythe, during tests, demonstrated he had problems controlling his emotions. She said these features “were not deep” and that he was not mentally ill, but that he doesn’t take enough responsibility for his own actions, sometimes “crossing social norms.” She pointed to when Blythe was fined for speeding and urinating in public when he was younger.

The criminal psychiatrist, Alena Gayova (appointed by the defense, she also tested Blythe in prison) said Blythe didn’t display any permanent “socially promiscuous” behavioral patterns. Even when in jail, when aggressive/anti-social behavior might be understandable, Gayova said Blythe showed normal results. She added he was not “overly aggressive.”

The female fan who took the stand said she stood close to the stage. She said the crowd was wild and at one point, the victim climbed up, and Randy grabbed him by his shoulders only to shove him down. She said the crowd parted at this point and Nosek hit the floor. The second fan said he did not recall any incident. The security guard who took the stand said he was at the door of the venue when he saw Daniel being escorted by two friends claiming that Daniel fell off the stage and needed some fresh air. The guard noted that he saw an ambulance pull up five minutes later.

There is one final witness who will take the stand tomorrow, an expert on biomechanics whom the defense has called to explain how Daniel may have fallen.

According to multiple reports, the judge said a verdict in the trial was likely tomorrow. UPDATE: The verdict is in and Blythe has been acquitted of all charges. Read the full report.
