The Faceless pretty much imploded yesterday. Vocalist Ken Sorceron, who joined the band in 2016, initially announced he'd be leaving the group to pursue Abigail Williams and The Accuser full time. Drummer Bryce Butler, who joined in 2017, announced he'd also be leaving the band to join Abigail Williams, and guitarist Justin McKinney, who joined in 2015, said he'd be leaving to focus on The Zenith Passage. All three statements from each of those members seemed to thank everyone except multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Michael Keene, who at the time did not comment on the departures.
The Faceless is currently scheduled for shows like Bay Area Deathfest and Montebello Rockfest, and manager for the band E.J. Shannon said the band would not be missing a single date despite having zero lineup. Now Keene is breaking the silence by issuing the following short statement – there will be another lineup.
I would like to publicly address the situation that The Faceless is currently in. I will keep this short and sweet:
My manager and I have been talking to new members for all of the positions that have been left empty today. We are currently confirming a lineup with some of the best, most creative and technically proficient musicians of the extreme metal genre. We will not be canceling any shows.
-Michael Keene
The Faceless has been performing without a bassist live for a while now, so I'd imagine that'll continue happening.Keene also echoes Shannon's sentiment that they won't miss any shows. It'll be really interesting to see who partakes in the band at this point.
