The status of Tool's damn-near-mythical follow-up to 2006's 10,000 Days has been pretty elusive over the years. However, drummer Danny Carey recently said that the band's fifth album would come out in 2018 and he sounded pretty damn convincing. Carey's words were an answer to the question of if bassist Justin Chancellor was correct in saying the new album was coming, saying "He did not lie to you. On scale of how much he lied, it would be zero. It’ll be out. It’ll be out in 2018." We also know Tool recorded a new version of 1992's "Opiate" recently, backing up the fact that Tool has indeed been in the studio.
So Daney Carey says new album in 2018, Justin Chancellor says new album in 2018, and Adam Jones hasn't been asked yet. What about vocalist Maynard James Keenan? Well, his answer is a total non-answer, because he's him and that's what he does.
Burp

So we've got two "2018" answers and one "burp." Dammit, where's Adam Jones to settle this one? Is the album coming in 2018 or burp?
