Tensions are high in Europe in the wake of the despicable attacks at an Eagles of Death Metal concert last Friday. While concert promoters have vowed to increase security, that just isn't enough for Lamb of God and Children of Bodom.
Their concert in Tilburg, Netherlands tonight has been cancelled over security concerns. The promoter released this statement:
"Because of the attacks on Paris last Friday that also took place in a music venue, a lot of stress is caused for bands playing in Europe. Combined with the terrorist threat that took place in Hannover, Germany last night, the bands are feeling to big a pressure to give the performance the audience is used from them and have decided to cancel their shows tonight. As of now, it is unknown if the bands will return for a replacement show later on."
It's hard to judge anybody during such an uncomfortable situation. Many other bands have cancelled gigs all over Europe the last few days, so Lamb of God is hardly the first and will unfortunately not be the last.
Update: We want to clarify that only Lamb of God wanted to cancel the shows and not Bodom. LOG have since cancelled all remaining tour dates.
