Earlier in the year we reported that founding member and guitarist of AC/DC Malcolm Young had run into some serious health issues and would be sitting out of the band for an unspecified amount of time while his nephew, Stevie Young, filled in as the band just completed their next record. Now band biographer and author of the new book The Youngs: The Brothers Who Built AC/DC Jesse Fink has come out and said Malcolm will not rejoin the band at all.
"I'm not expecting to see Malcolm return. The important thing is we all let Mal be and hope he can recover. We should all expect that Stevie is in the band now."
Listen, I'm not the number one AC/DC fan in the entire world. However, the band deserves all the respect in the world for what they've done for rock music in general and we wish Malcolm a speedy and healthy recovery from whatever he ails from! Also, to Stevie- best of luck! That's the gig of a lifetime!
