We've had some good laughs at Nickelback's expense over the years. Some examples include the Nickelback Block Chrome Extension and the best Nickelback concert preview ever. During the election cycle, the Nickelback jokes hit a new level as people started protesting that Ted Cruz Likes Nickelback, as an insult. It has come up many times since with signs suggesting either Hillary or Trump like the Canadian active rock band.
One of the bands that tried to get in on the joke was UK rock band Royal Blood, who tweeted earlier in the week:

Now, Nickelback could take a joke. But they weren't about to let a band I barely remember sit there on Twitter and ruin their good name:
