Limp Bizkit has supposedly been working on Stampede Of The Disco Elephants for years now, but nothing has ever surfaced. Frontman Fred Durst once (likely falsely) said the album was done and released online but nobody ever found it and guitarist Wes Borland said nobody really wants to hear new music from the band anyway, but regardless – Stampede Of The Disco Elephants remains non-stampeding.
Now in a new interview with Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes on BBC's Radio 1's Rock Show with Daniel P Carter, Sykes says he and keyboardist Jordan Fish were hired to help write the record in 2017 but Fred Durst was a pain in the ass to work with.
“Last year, me and Jordan went and worked with Fred Durst on a Limp Bizkit album. It just didn’t work out to be honest. He just didn’t show up most of the time.
Lovely guy, but I don’t think he was ready to make and album. I think he was pushed into it a bit, like, his managers and people said ‘these are the guys you want to work with.’ So we gave him all these ideas and I mean it was just bad from day one to be honest…”
So it looks like Stampede Of The Disco Elephants is unfinished, or at least it was as of last. Unless this was other material they were doing and Stampede has been done? Who knows at this point.
