It looks like we're going to be waiting a total of five years for a new Dimmu Borgir album now, instead of four!
Guitarist Silenoz for the group was interviewed by Inferno TV (which you can check out below) and was asked about what was causing the delay of the new record.
The guitarist basically says the band are taking their time getting new material together to make an excellent record. I hope they retain the huge orchestral sound from 2010's Abrahadabra, but maybe focus in a little more on the hooks on melodies this time. When that album shone, it shone brighter than the sun! But when it hit the boring parts… man, get me a blanket because I am going to sleep. Here's his full quote:
"Of course we're always writing music for the new Dimmu album. And I have written most of the music, finished, for the next Insidious Disease album. So there's a lot of stuff going on. Time flies by, and before you know it, it's, like, four years since we released the last Dimmu album. Usually we take a couple of years between each release, but now it's [taken longer and] two more [years have gone by]. But we haven't rushed, really, because we'd rather take our time and make an album that we can fully appreciate and stand behind."
Will you be anticipating this release when it finally comes out or are you over Dimmu Borgir?
