Dave Mustaine Teases MEGADETH To Open For Somebody They've Never Played With Before. Who Could It Be?

Your guess is as good as ours.

Megadeth are still out on the road supporting their 2016 release, Dystopia. And the band has plenty of touring left, according to frontman Dave Mustaine.

Mustaine revealed the band will be on a headlining run very shortly, and then teased an even bigger tour where Megadeth will play direct support for another band. Speaking to Detroit radio station WRIF, Mustaine said:

"Believe it or not, we've got some cool things going on for the States. We've got two really great things we're gonna be doing. We'll be heading out some part of the spring or summer, and then we just were told about an opportunity at the end of the year that really, really excited me. It's somebody I've never played with before that we're actually gonna be supporting. They were so cool that we would step down from being a headliner to support this group."

Megadeth rarely don't headline anymore, so this certainly has to be something big, but what band is big enough for Megadeth to open for – that they haven't already played with?

My mind immediately went to Iron Maiden, but they've already announced their tour, plus Megadeth already opened for them before.

For all you trolls that say Metallica, welp, they already opened for Metallica on the Big Four shows. Black Sabbath isn't touring anymore. If you say Slayer, well they already toured with Megadeth.

So who could this magical, mysterious band be?
