For all of Dave Mustaine's faults, I think we can all agree that the man is a great guitarist. But maybe after watching these videos, we might have to reassess that statement.
Mustaine played with the San Diego Symphony this weekend for a session titled Symphony Interrupted at Copley Symphony Hall in San Diego. Mustaine, along with the orchestra performed Richard Wagner's "Ride Of The Valkyries," Bach's "Air" and solo'd on Vivaldi's concertos from "The Four Seasons".
I am no expert but after one listen at this video footage, it does not sound good:

Mustaine just sounds so out of places on all of those. It sounds like those "shred" Youtube videos that were passed around. Things sounded a bit better when they played Megadeth's "Symphony of Destruction"

Well, I give Dave credit for trying, but some of those top passages were a bit sloppy (coming from somebody who doesn't even play guitar!) It just shows that being self-taught and playing metal is one thing, but classical is a whole other ballgame.
