Dave Mustaine Confirms METALLICA's No Life 'Til Leather Reissue Still Isn't Happening

As Metallica reissues their entire catalog via their record label Blackened Recordings, you'll notice an absence of their famous 1982 demo No Life 'Til Leather. Ex-guitarist and Megadeth mastermind Dave Mustaine said on Twitter last year the reason they won't reissue the demo is because he won't sign off on it. Specifically, Dave says "the talks broke down because Lars wanted credit on two songs I wrote every note and word to. I have the texts. I passed."

Now in an interview with Billboard, Mustaine says he and Lars are still at a stalemate about what should happen with writing credits for the demo.

“I don’t think that’s going to happen. We talked about it a little bit, and there are certain things about the way [Metallica drummer] Lars [Ulrich] wants things to go down, and it’s just not going to happen. They want to say things happened one way, and it didn’t happen that way. I can’t go along with that. I can’t fabricate stuff.”

The interview was also to promote Megadeth's upcoming Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good! reissue. The reissue was remixed by Mark Lewis (Trivium, Cannibal Corpse) and remastered by Ted Jensen (Green Day, Mastodon). The reissue is due out June 8 and you can hear a fresh new version of "The Skull Beneath The Skin" below.
