Spotify Launches Spotify Premium Duo Plan, Targeting Couples

For two people living at the same address, weirdly.

Spotify Launches Spotify Premium Duo Plan

Spotify has a new tier for their Premium service. Spotify now offers the usual Individual accounts for $9.99/month and Family plans for up to six people for $14.99/month, plus a new Spotify Premium Duo choice for $12.99/month. Duo is basically a chopped down version of the Family plan for slightly cheaper.

"With the newly rolled-out Premium Duo, each fan gets their own individual Premium account so they can both fully enjoy the benefits of Spotify Premium," said Spotify in a statement. "This includes ad-free, on-demand listening and our catalog of more than 50 million tracks, as well as access to over 1 million podcast titles. What’s more, Premium Duo subscribers can listen to their own playlists anytime, individually, uninterrupted, and get access to the exclusive Duo Mix, a regularly updated playlist made just for the two of them to discover audio they both love."

It's also fun that the Duo service creates Duo Mixes, "a playlist for two, regularly updated with music you both enjoy." Implying that you're going find common ground with whoever you're sharing the plan with.
