Are you excited for Soundwave 2016? Well you shouldn't be, because that shit is cancelled! Founder and organizer A.J. Maddah had this to say about the festival's cancellation, which mostly involves the fact that nobody was going to it anymore.
"I am devastated to have to announce the cancellation of Soundwave 16 due to poor ticket sales. I am very sorry. I tried my best. Thank you to all the fans, bands and people who supported the event for the last 12 years. I wish we could have ended it on a better note."
Well that sucks… and on that same note, even if ticket sales were good, wouldn't bands still want to play? Music Feed AU posted up this list of expenses the festival taken from "Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) from a meeting of Soundwave creditors on 7th October detail the money creditors believe Soundwave acts are owed." the expenses range from a few thousand bucks to tens of millions for bands.
