Metallica, The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi and KISS are among the rock acts to make the annual Forbes' highest-paid celebrities list. Kylie Jenner topped the list, making $590 million last year, with her brother-in-law, Kanye West right behind her at #2 with a comparatively meager $170 million.
Forbes tallies the earninings by estimating pre-tax earnings between June of 2019 and 2020, and then deducts fees for managers, etc. Forbes uses data from Neilsen, IMDB, Pollstar and interviews with inudstry experts.
Other notable acts in the top 10 include tennis legend Roger Federer at $106.3 million and Howard Stern coming in at #8 making a cool $90 million last year.
Rock legends make their first mark at #32, with The Rolling Stones brining in $59 million. Sir Paul McCartney meanwhile came it at number 91 with "only" $37 million in earnings this year.
Sir Paul actually earned less than Metallica who came in at number 78 on the list, with $40.5 million.
Bon Jovi came in at number 87 on the list, bringing in $38 million.
KISS came in at 95 taking in $36.5 million so far on their farewell tour.
The highest paid musician besides West seems to be Post Malone, at number 28 on the list with $60 million. Billie Eilish, who also had a big year, placed 43rd with $53 million.
Overall, the top paid celebrities combined made $6.1 billion, a $200 million drop from 2019. It's likely that the last few months, with the global pandemic heavily contributed to that decline.
