Marshall Amps Unveils A Smartphone With A Focus on Music

Marshall have really been expanding their line of products past amps in recent years to everything from headphones to refrigerators. Now, they are coming out with their own cellphone.

Powered on the Android software, the Marshall London as it's called has a focus on music. It has two front-facing speakers and uniquely, two audio outputs, a gold crown on the side for volume adjustment, plus a dedicated "M" button to get to your music quickly. The Verge has the spec report:

The Marshall London is otherwise a very conventional Android smartphone. It has a 4.7-inch, 720p display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and an 8-megapixel camera. The battery's not huge at 2,500mAh, but it is removable, plus there's a microSD card slot for adding extra storage.

Marshall also includes their Mode In Ears with every purchase. The phone will come pre-loaded with a custom equalizer controlling the entirety of the phone's sound, dual mics and the Loopstack app.

The phone is going to retail for around $590. No word on availability yet, but the phone is expected to be released on August 21st.
