Ghost released their first demo in 2009, first LP in 2010, and have since been in the spotlight for everything from massive tours to a pretty prolonged lawsuit. Now 10 years after that demo, frontman Tobias Forge (who you might know better as Papa Emeritus or Cardinal Copia) was ranked number seven in Expressen's list of the highest-earning Swedes under the age of 40.
According to the newspaper, Forge's taxable income in 2017 was 7,979,300 Swedish kronor, or $837,000. That's about two years into Ghost's Meliora album cycle, and prior to the all the touring and release of Prequelle in 2018. It would be really interesting to see a breakdown of that $837,000, and how much of it actually came from touring and album sales/streaming.
Ghost will hit the road this September with Nothing More and release a new album in 2020.
