We have been seeing multiple reports pop up around these here interwebs suggesting that Travis Smith may no longer be affiliated with the band he helped form, TRIVIUM. Questions started arising when Travis had to sit out their most recent tour with CHIMAIRA because he was "taking care of some personal business.” The band's drum tech, Nick Augusto was filling in for them in the interim. Bad news kids, it looks like Travis is not coming back at all and he is be done with the band. The band has yet to publicly comment on the matter. During a recent interview on Noisecreep, Matt Heavy was avoiding answering the question of Travis's future by saying:
"Unfortunately, all we can say is he's not on this tour and we hope everything is going amazingly … that's the only PR response I'll be forced to say."
Bassist Paolo Gregoletto commented to The Gauntlet saying:
"We are planning to get together in January to work on the material and I don't know if he'll be there," and adding "We are prepared to move on if we have to"
Clearly a touchy subject. If we hear more on this matter, you will surely know about it! Check out this video of Matt and Travis in happier times at this past April's Revolver Golden God Awards.
