Zao and Against The Grain Brewery have teamed up to create a new beer called Burned At The Stake. According to the band, the beer is “smoked stout with various chili peppers and has a target ABV of 6-7%. The base malt will be Baird Marris Otter and will also include specialty grains such as Pale Chocolate, Midnight Wheat and Roasted Barley.”
Vocalist Dan Weyandt says the beer is pretty much a natural thing to happen, given his conversation with Against The Grain brewer Pete Fingerson.
“It all started as a brief conversation with brewer Pete Fingerson and I on the Zao Facebook page. We soon began to talk more often, primarily about beer and music, and eventually we figured since we were both fans of each other’s work that a collaboration only made sense.”
No word on when the beer is out.
