Good thing we started this "Bands and Booze" category. How else would we keep up with all these beer announcements? Today, Iron Maiden announced they will be brewing Trooper beer.
Of course, the beer was developed by Dr. Bruce Dickinson himself…
Trooper is a premium British beer inspired by Iron Maiden and handcrafted at Robinsons brewery. Being a real ale enthusiast, vocalist Bruce Dickinson has developed a beer which has true depth of character. Malt flavours and citric notes from a unique blend of Bobec, Goldings and Cascade hops dominate this deep golden ale with a subtle hint of lemon.
It sounds like the beer is somewhere in between a Hoegarden, a Blue Moon and a Shock Top, which are all my favorite types of beer. Beer snobs will roll their eyes, but screw you, snobs, this sounds like it's going to be delicious.
The site says the beer is coming soon. You can sign up to a mailing list to be informed when it's available.
Check out what other bands are brewing their own beer.
