CHILDREN OF BODOM Announces Beer Brewed With Water From Lake Bodom
I'm about to make this not very fun. For those unaware, Children Of Bodom are named after the Lake Bodom murders, or the Bodominjärvi Murders. The murders took place on June 5, 1960, where three teenagers between the ages of 15 and 18 were killed in a tent on the river by way of stabbing and blunt force trauma. A fourth teenage was injured, but survived, and the assailant was never caught.
Anyway, Children Of Bodom have teamed up with Fat Lizard Brewing Co. to create the Lake Bodom Pre-Prohibition Lager, which was brewed with water from Lake Bodom. The marketing campaign says "this the perfect beer for socializing, dinner, head banging or lakeside camping," and I kinda feel like given the band's name and its allusion to those events that maybe they should've left out the part about camping.
Lake Bodom Pre-Prohibition Lager goes on sale February 1 in Finland. Children Of Bodom will also release their new record Hexed on March 8.
