Beavis and Butthead are the ultimate shit-talking know-it-alls. They are the prototype for the internet metal nerd. We decided to compile a list of our favorite metal video reviews to ever air on the original series. We have done our best to track down EVERY metal review available for streaming online. If we missed one, please leave a comment letting us know. Follow along, buttmuch!
Update June 2020: Beavis and Butt-head is coming back to TV. They will be "re-imagined for Gen Z" and return on Comedy Central in 2021. Read the announcement here.
1) Pantera – This Love
Without question, the greatest metal review these guys have ever done. I just watched this again for the millionth time and it was just as funny. Referring to Pantera as if it were a person, and a pussy at that is hilarious. "You treat your stepmother with respect, Pantera!"
2) Megadeth – Symphony of Destruction
I never noticed how much Dave Mustaine sounded like Beavis until Butthead pointed it out.
3) Rollins Band – Liar
LIAAARRRRR!!! LIAAAARRRR!!! LIIIAAAARRRRR!!!!!
4) Death – The Philosopher
Can you believe there was a time where Death got airplay on a nationwide cable channel? And, to get poked fun at by Beavis and Butthead? Huge! The duo confuses the kid in this video for Jeremy of Pearl Jam fame.
5) Crowbar – Existence is Punishment
"This music is slow and fat."
6) Grim Reaper – Fear No Evil
This is a legendary review, one that Mike Judge talked about when we interviewed him last week, mentioning how he ran into the singer of Grim Reaper at a show once, and apologized to him for the mean things Beavis and Butthead said about the band, where the singer said he was just pissed they didn't use an even cheesier video.
7) Black Sabbath – Iron Man
Something about the duo singing out the famous riff just gets me every time.
8) Iron Maiden – From Here To Eternity
Things get philosophical in this one, as Beavis and Butthead ponder what the title of the song actually means. Also, it's F'N Maiden!
9) Suicidal Tendencies – Institutionalized
This song is already funny enough, but adding Beavis over it is the icing on the cake.
10) Korn – Blind
In this clip, Beavis is the voice of the elitist metal nerds who were always giving Korn shit.
11) GWAR – Jack The World
Can't have a Beavis and Butthead metal countdown without mentioning their favorite band, Gwar. Not a review, but really, what a cool moment for Gwar?!
12) Metallica – For Whom The Bell Tolls
Another case of Beavis and Butthead playing the roles of metal heads on either side of the the love/hate Metallica fence.
13) Napalm Death – Plauge Rages
Barney sounds like Godzilla.
14) Ozzy Osbourne – Shot In The Dark
I could only find a Russian version of this video, but it makes it even more hilarious, hearing overdub actors imitate Beavis.
15) Morbid Angel – God of Emptiness
If only Beavis and Butthead were around to hear Morbid Angel's most recent output…
16) Slayer – Seasons in the Abyss
Obviously, Beavis and Butthead would love fn Slayer, but what about the video?
17) Danzig
A writer on Beavis and Butthead must have been a huge Danzig fan cause he was featured a lot.
18) King Diamond – The Family Ghost
Beavis and Butthead don't seem to be hip the high vocals…
19) Accept – Balls to the Wall
Read the title of the song, and you can understand why this review is hilarious.
20) Motörhead – No Voices In The Sky
"Lemmy rules" – Butthead. What more can be said?
21) Metallica – One
It's rare for a metal band to be featured twice on the show, but this isn't just any band, this is Metallica. These dudes are bored with the slow part, just get to the heavy…
22) Type O Negative – Black No. 1
The two amuse themselves mocking Peter Steele's voice. Don't they know he can kill them?ca
