Top 10 Heavy Metal Viral Clips of 2009

This year there were many hilarious videos. I went through our br00tal Comedy channel archives and picked out the best funny videos of the year. How did I rank these? A combination of amount of hits, sheer hilariousness and personal taste. I think we can all agree on #1…

1) Black Sabbath Superfan

THE GODS ARE HERE!! Without a doubt, this is the greatest metal comedy clip of this year, if not this decade. If there was ever a dude that epitomized the cliché metal fan, it's this dude. I can't begin to tell you how many times we've quoted this clip at the Metal Injection studios. I'M GONNA FAINT!

2) Metallica Likes Death

Direct Link

METALLICA sure sings a lot about death, right? Well, one dedicated fan wanted to see just how much the band sings about it, by compiling every "dead", "death", "die" and "dying" ever in a 'tallica song. A side-effect of this clip, is you hear just how much James Hetfield's voice degrades over time.

3) Lamb of God Smooth Jazz Version

Direct Link

Who says heavy metal is just a bunch of loud racket? Andy Rehfeldt took Lamb of God's single, "Set To Fail" and remained it as a jazz song. It still rocks a whole lot.

4) Super Mario Theme Gone Metal

Direct Link

I like heavy metal and I used to love Super Mario Bros. Naturally, so do other people One musician combined his love of both and covered the traditional Mario theme and did a great job. A week later, we found a sick cover of the Castle theme as well.

5) Black Metal Baking

Take two things that you don't imagine going together, and you have comedy gold. These guys really nailed it.

6) Going Undercover at Maryland Deathfest

Direct Link

Greg Weeks does not look like he is in a death metal band, but he actually is. He thought it would be funny to pretend he has never been to a death metal show and ask the attendants of the Maryland Deathfest to explain metal to him. The results are hysterical.

7) Sesame Street Slayer

Direct Link

The internet was made for music/children show mashups, and this combination of Slayer and Sesame Street does not disappoint.

8) Metal Spring Break

Direct Link

Why do guides get to have all the fun? While attending the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, we realized it was basically the metal version of Spring Break. Unfortunately it wasn't in an exotic location like Cancun, but rather Worcester, MA. But that didn't stop us from making the wildest metal spring break video ever!

9) Moshing Wii Kid

Direct Link

The Nintendo Wii was the most sought after console, for a while being sold out at most retail stores. When this kid got his Wii, he got so excited he started moshing it up!

10) Metal Idol

Screw Simon! Thor Shredsteen, Sinister Sasha and some broad are here to find the best unsigned metal talent to send to Gothenburg. They settle for some drugs.
