Last week on the RIP a Livecast, while listening to old Godsmack, co-host 3D pointed out that frontman Sully Erna sometimes sounds like Beavis when singing.
Today, their new track "1000hp" was released, and rest assured, Sully does not sound like Beavis, but rather like a poor man's Layne Staley, which might not be a bad thing.
The track serves as a retrospective of the band's entire career:

So, there it is. I asked 3D what he thought of the track and he said it sounded like Load-era Metallica with a Layne Staley impressionist on vocals. The album will also be called 1000hp and is out August 5th.
