The Red Chord's Mike McKenzie had a busy summer. He helped fill in on bass for Job For A Cowboy during the Summer Slaughter tour, and he finished up an album of 8 bit songs for a project he's calling Unraveller. Mike describes the project as "an 8-bit video game-inspired piece chronicling the journey of a group of young dream explorers. Inspired by NES, 80's adventure films, cartoons and other things from my childhood." The best part? He plans to release the whole thing for free. Mike posted a preview of the music online, and it's a sweet track. It's "not quite metal" but your head will be banging at the ridiculous drumming and the intricate samples included in the song.
