The last we heard from guitarist Paul Ortiz's Chimp Spanner was in 2012 with his phenomenal All Roads Lead Here EP, a solid blend of the usual instru-metal heaviness expected from the man with some interesting soundscapes. Now he's back with a new track "Aurora" which picks up right where he left off! The one thing that sets the track apart from All Roads Lead Here (and his other work in general) is the reliance on electronics throughout the track. Skip to 2:30 to see what I mean, but prepare yourself first- it's awesome.
Apparently his fans in general are digging the track, as he's posted to Facebook during the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 14:
"Just wanted to say a massive thank you for all the great feedback on the new demo track. The space in between releases is like a wilderness sometimes and it's terrifying to not know if you're on the right path. So all the re-shares and kind words; they really mean a lot and they help me see a way through to the other side of the whole process. Thank you!"
