The last time I wrote about Attila, not including tour announcements, I was talking about their really deep lyrics (not rly) and it looks like not much has changed. The band put out a new album today, About That Life and I'm confused if these dudes are trying to be "metal" or "hip-hop" or perhaps maybe both?
First off, look at this promo photo for the album release:
These guys are tough, from the mean streets of suburban Atlanta! If that wasn't enough, they released a lyric video which is basically just a video of a girl doing a striptease (NSFW) with their terrible lyrics plastered on top of it. Such deep thoughts as:
"This is not a request / It's an order / Are you fuckin listening / Attention defict disorder?"
Clearly, the guy who wrote these lyrics must have attention deficit disorder! Also:
Fuck the law / Fuck this shit / Punch that bitch / Break shit / Fuck the law / Fuck it
So eloquent! Here's the lyric video in full:
Don't think I'm hurting the band's feelings or anything. Frontman Chris Fronzak tweeted yesterday:
“If you’re worried about MY life, your life must suck and I feel sorry for you Anyways, I wrote the most controversial metal record that exists and it comes out tomorrow, so bring the hate! #AboutThatLife”
Not worried about your life, I'm worried about my ears! I never thought I'd say this, but I'd much rather listen to Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff" than Attila's "Break Shit;" at least the Limp song has a good riff!
