Back in 2010, The Crinn dropped Dreaming Saturn via Nuclear Blast Records. The record was pretty well received, the band played some live shows and then a whole lot of nothing happened. Sparing a few performances and very little in the way of social media posting, The Crinn were essentially dead to the world. Which is fine because they're back in a big way now!
Are you ready to be silently betrayed?
"Silent Betrayers" is just crazy enough to earn it the label of being mathy technical metal, but the band's writing allows the song to breathe and be accessible by a wide variety of listeners. Vocalist John Nelson seems pretty stoked about the band's long-awaited new track… as he should be.
"It has been a long 4 years since we released our first full length record, Dreaming Saturn, and we are beyond pumped to showcase 'Silent Betrayer' from our upcoming album entitled Shadowbreather! The first thing people might notice, contrary to our last release, is that the new album was not formed as a concept. The direction we went with was to write individual songs that are somewhat shorter in length, more in line with our self-titled EP. Stylistically we have no rules. We write what comes to us. These songs are a true expression of our experimental nature with a bit of a focus on making our sound meaner and heavier. We really hope you enjoy 'Silent Betrayer,' and we will be releasing more news on the album soon!!!"
No word on when Shadowbreather will be out.
