The hype for the new Sepultura album, The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart has been the most I've heard in a while about the Brazilian thrashers. Perhaps it has to do with them reuniting with Ross Robison, who produced Roots, or perhaps having Dave Lombardo guest on the record had something to do with it.
Either way, I was excited to get a taste, and today we get our first taste with a new track, “The Age of the Atheist.”

While it's not exactly what I expected, it sounds more doomy, I actually like it. This will probably be the first Sepultura album I listen to from beginning to end in quite a while.
The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart is out October 29 on Nuclear Blast. Pre-order it here. The band will also be hitting the road with Unearth, Kataklysm and others. Dates here.
