Russian Circles have largely been an instrumental band since their inception in 2004. Nine years later and apparently it was time for a game changer.
Russian Circles will be putting out their album Memorial on October 29, and nobody has any idea how many songs will actually feature vocals. This song, the title track, features vocalist Chelsea Wolfe in the most interesting way. She's singing, sure, but it's so drown out on reverb and mixed pretty low that it's almost just another instrument in the mix as opposed to a focal point of the song, which is a really interesting utilization of her voice… which is quite haunting. I hope she makes more appearances on the record.
