Rivers of Nihil had made some pretty big splashes in both 2011 and 2012 with demos and their Temporality Unbound EP. Now we get to hear what full-on produced Rivers of Nihil sounds like at the hands of Erik Rutan! It's badass.
Well damn, Rivers of Nihil are apparently stepping it right the hell up on their debut LP The Conscious Seed of Light. "Rain Eater" takes the standard modern death metal sound and forces it into an old-school-type context ala Black Seeds of Vengeance Nile and pretty much any Vader (I've seen comparisons to Whitechapel and Ulcerate too, so take your pick). It's death metal with actual riffs and substance, actual vocal variety, and the seeming ability by each band member to play the living shit out of each other their respective instrument. The Conscious Seed of Light hits stores via Metal Blade on October 15, and you can totally pre-order the record right here via Metal Blade's site!
