In a move that makes perfect sense, Prosthetic has joined the ranks of labels that have uploaded their catalogue of records to Bandcamp. Now you can try it before you buy it without stealing it! Hooray!
Now you can listen to all your favorite prosthetic bands on Bandcamp! There's really no reason labels shouldn't be doing this now, if and only if for the reason of piracy prevention to some degree. Now people can listen to a record front to back and figure out if they really want to spend ten bucks on it, or just skip it. It's obvious a lot of people say they're just trying it before they buy it when downloading a record, but the real statistic seems more like a "keep" than a "try." Even beyond that, it allows the artist and the label to stylize their page to however they want, upload bonus tracks or bonus whatever, and even set special prices on a whim without having to worry about international shipping and all that jazz (when it comes to digital downloads, anyway). Oh! Then there's the fact that Bandcamp now allows people to sell merchandise and sell pre-order packages on there… I mean really, why the hell wouldn't you at this point?
