Alkaloid, the band featuring drummer Hannes Grossmann (Howling Sycamore, ex-Obscura), bassist Linus Klausenitzer (Noneuclid, Obscura), guitarists Christian Münzner (ex-Spawn of Possession, ex-Obscura) and Danny Tunker (ex-Aborted), and guitarist and vocalist Morean (Dark Fortress, Noneuclid), is very clearly full of surprises on their coming album Liquid Anatomy.
Their new song "Kernel Panic" opens up with a very "Three Of A Perfect Pair" by King Crimson (or "1985" by Haken, or a ton of things by Rush) riff that slowly but surely keeps going down, down, down until it's just devastatingly heavy… and then comes back up to the original 80s proggy goodness to repeat the cycle all over again.
You should probably just pre-order Liquid Anatomy below before it comes out on May 18. Who the hell knows what other insane and well-done musical stylings you'll find on there?
