Last year, we saw the formation of Termina, a project showing off the meeting of minds between vocalist Andy Cizek and guitarist Nik Nocturnal. Although Cizek had initially made his way into the scene through the bands Makari and WVNDER, his biggest claim to fame is his somewhat recent joining of the UK djent act Monuments. On the other hand, Nik is more recognized from his growing YouTube channel with metal covers and guitar-driven videos aplenty as well as solo material.
Their previously released track "Lucid" brought similarities to Architects or Born of Osiris, yet they have a new single that expands on their progcore style. "The Abyss" excels through the clean and growled vocal duality reminding one of Erra. Similarities to Periphery also emerge through the modern production and proggy guitar work.
