I'm sure at this point you've heard Monster Magnet's new record Last Patrol that came out on October 15 via Napalm Records, and if you haven't go jam those jams right here. It's a solid record and I can assure you the b-side we've got "One Dead Moon" is just as good!
"One Dead Moon" is a bit of a slow burner- it's a little bit of a ballad that explodes into a rock-and-roll chorus that somehow reminds me of a lighter, slower version of Motorhead. That's not a bad thing. It's a pretty cool song overall but I can see why it didn't make it on to the record, mainly because it's just sort of… there. It exists. It's a good song that I can see myself hitting play on from time to time, but overall it's not as good as the stuff on Last Patrol. So good choice, Monster Magnet!
