Ahoy-hoy, Junkies! We here at Metal Injection are always looking for new metal to introduce our readers to, and, to that end, we're partnering with up-and-coming French extreme metal label Kaotoxin Records to sponsor their first album sampler titled Weapons of Self-Destruction vol. 1.
The sampler will contain 26 tracks of underground death metal, grindcore, black metal, and doom, and it won't set you back a penny. Weapons of Self-Destruction will be completely free in both digital and CD formats once it's released on October 6th. You'll be able to download the digital version through Kaotoxin's Bandcamp page, but to get the CD you'll have to purchase something through Kaotoxin's webstore.
Even if you've never heard of a single band on Weapons of Self-Destruction, you should still at least download the digital version. There's almost certainly a few bands here that you'll like. Pay particular attention to the funeral doom stylings of Eye of Solitude, the frantic death metal of Insain, and Colosus's wall of atmospheric black metal. The Weapons compilation also features a brand new song by Sidious called “Obscenity Ov Old” which is taken from the band's upcoming debut LP. Lastly, this sampler features the return of O.G. goregrinders Putrid Offal – France's first goregrind band are exploding back into the world after a twenty year hiatus, and this compilation is the first taste anyone on the planet is getting of their new incarnation.
