KORN Guitarist Brian "Head" Welch Says He Loves Jesus But Hates Religion

Which is the best way to go about it.

Which is the best way to go about it.

Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch was recently interviewed by Fanpass and of course religion was brought up. If you've been living under a rock, Head left Korn in 2005 because he found Jesus and felt like his new life conflicted with the band's sinful ways. Once the band got clean, and shaped up, Head decided to rejoin his bros in 2012.

In this interview, Head talks about his personal relationship with Jesus Christ while at the same time having a distaste for religion overall.

Here's what Head said.

"I like to get high on something, and when I asked the Lord to come and make his home inside of me, the spiritual high, it's so real… and I hate religion — I don't talk about religion at all — but the relationship through Christ is what I found. And I'm totally satisfied. Now I can enjoy raising my kid, I can enjoy jamming with music in Korn, I can enjoy anything I do. It's the best high ever."

I get what he's saying, or I feel like I do. The man has his beliefs but he's not into the bigger organized religion or blanket doctrines and all that. Good on him! He found what works in his life and he's sticking to it. I always felt like organized religion was a little overbearing anyway, and the idea of thee one-size-fits-all moralities are just… silly, to me anyway.

Listen, we covered Satanism so we're covering this too. I'm Agnostic as fuck so this is all moot to me.
