John 5 is an incredibly talented guitarist who plays with the likes of Marylin Manson and Rob Zombie by day and hashes out his solo work at night. It goes without saying he shows off a little more of his technical side on the latter, which is why I was a little disappointed with his new track 'This Is My Rifle." The song feels like it never really goes anywhere, like starting up a nice, fast sports car and then sitting in the parking lot texting your mom about what's for dinner. Granted you should still check out his upcoming release Careful With That Axe whenever it comes out considering John 5's solo stuff is usually much better than this track.
