The Refused were supposed to play an outdoor show yesterday in Brooklyn, but then we got a halestorm and the whole city freaked. The concert organizers ended up cancelling the show, mid-storm (even though by showtime, all the rain had cleared) and people were bummed. The band sort of made it up, announcing a free show that night not too far from the original venue, except the capacity was maybe 1/3rd of the original venue, so many got locked out. I guess they had to just stay up and watch Late Night with Jimmy Fallon like the rest of us. Alas, even though Frank had a seemingly life-changing experience the last time Refused were in town, it seems as though I will never be able to catch the Refused. It wasn't meant to be. During the free show, the band was joined onstage by CroMags frontman John Joseph for the 'Mags song “We Gotta Know,” as well as Bad Brains’ “Attitude.” Here's a bootleg:
