I try my best to stay positive on this site, but sometimes a track comes along like this and it makes it very difficult. The PRP has made us aware of the band Traitors' and their deathcore reimagining of perhaps my favorite Pantera song, "5 Minutes Alone."
Now there are two ways to do a cover. You either try to do a straight up version of the song, which I always find boring or you reimagine the song and make it completely your own. I will say that Traitors went for the latter approach, turning the song into a more deathcore type song. But the result completely strips the song of it's character. I will say, slowing down the breakdown at the end did make it seem heavier, but it took so long to get there that my mind was already made up on the song. I will say that they did a respectable job with Dime's solo, which is not an easy task usually.
