Dudes sound like themselves, and that rules.

Ghorot

Ghorot is now streaming their blackened heavy metal masterpiece Loss Of Light, and you need it in your life. The band expertly mixes everything from creeping atmospheric passages to outright riffs that'll force you to headbang, all while maintaining a very consistent an identifiable sound.

"Loss of Light is a deeply emotional and cathartic record for all of us involved, and it certainly became a vessel into which we were able to release all of the chaos and pain in our own lives over these past tumultuous years," said the band. "To write, rehearse, and record these brutal songs was meditative in many ways, and allowed us to take refuge in the one thing we could still hold on to during the storm. Loss of Light deeply explores the acceptance of life without the divine, the anger and sadness that resides in that acknowledgment, but also the prosperity and freedom granted once the shackles are removed.

"The ramifications of the ancient structures of human society have come to full bear for all to witness, and it is indeed hard to not look away at the horror. The world around us has grown ever sicker, and the rot of decay is present around every corner. And yet there is still much beauty to be found in the darkness once the eyes have adjusted to the loss of light. We encourage our listeners to welcome the utter depths of pain and sorrow, and to thrive in the joy of a life unbound by gods and masters.”

Loss Of Light was recorded and mixed by Z.V. House of Rabbitbrush Audio, mastered by James Plotkin (Electric Wizard, Sunn O))), Conan), and given artwork by Stephen "Unknown Relic" Wilson. Loss Of Light is out July 23 and is available here on Bandcamp and here on CD.
