German funeral doom project Frowning is back with a brand new EP called Of Void and it's as slow and depressing as you'd want it to be. Frowning mastermind Val Atra Niteris said the EP is comprised of older ideas alongside a title track written entirely in January 2022. Stream it below and buy it here.
"After Death Requiem I decided to go back to my roots. So I've been trying to get some vibes of Funeral Impressions on this EP," said Niteris.
"'Alone' was a track that I wrote way back in 2011 but since I went a lot darker on the last 2 records it never seemed to fit in. This time I tried to get a kind of melancholic/romantic atmosphere. Also the intro of 'Corrode From A Dream' was written back in 2013 when I was working on Funeral Impressions but I never found a fitting arrangement til now. Only the title track 'Of Void' was written in January 2022. I'm very proud to bring out this similar vibe of my debut but with the heavy sound I always wanted."
