New Jersey based hardcore outfit, Departed, have dropped a stunner of an album with "Darkness Reigns". A solid fusion of hardcore with black and death metal, this group is just straight up PISSED and they are not subtle about it.
The album features beefy riffs, straight-forward blast beats and vocals that all support the sheer heaviness of it all. Their sound, if you can't tell, is the epitome of aggressive and is perfectly suited to the pit.
Building on the brutality of their debut album, Departed is sure to find fans across the genres and if you have yet to give them a listen, now's your chance to miss the pit right along with me.
