Mondays suck. Death metal doesn't. So let's start the week off by checking out a recently-released death metal album. And if you need more, check out all the previous editions of Death Metal Monday here. You can also check out the Death Metal Monday playlist here.

If you need to be thrown into the equivalent of a sonic blender this morning, look no further than Disimperium's new record Grand Insurgence Upon Despotic Altars.

I mean really, this thing is just a vortex of utter chaos that never even hints at letting up. Which is great – why else am I listening to death metal? Even a slower song like "Sepulchral Mind Prison" has this Morbid Angel on meth vibe to them that you can't quite shake. Maybe that's what happened to all the folks on the cover of Grand Insurgence Upon Despotic Altars. They got all the way through the record and were slowly, unknowingly dismembered and strew about. It's more likely than you think!

Grand Insurgence Upon Despotic Altars was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Seánan McCullough at Helvete Sound, given cover art by Abomination Hammer, and given a logo and frame by BMS. Get Grand Insurgence Upon Despotic Altars here.
