DISTURBED's New Song Is A Cringeworthy Tribute To Weed

Ugh.

Ugh.

I'm sure you've heard Black Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf." The song kicks off with some coughing and then it's right into the jam, which is a classic. Now Disturbed wants to get on the weed-tribute wagon by first announcing that singer David Draiman smokes a lot and then releasing a new song called "Fire It Up." Criticisms after the song, naturally.

55 seconds. That's how long until we get into the song. The first 55 seconds of this song are needless bong noises and what boils down to Disturbed making you really, really aware that this song is about weed. Then there are the lyrics… dude. "When I take a puff of the leaves of the Devil" is one line among many that made me cringe a little.

So am I hating on this because it's Disturbed? Nope. I'm just saying this song is the equivalent of that friend who smoked weed once and now will never shut the hell up about how he's "SUUUCH A POT HEAD" and all that annoying cliché stoner bullshit.
