As if we weren't aware that Devin Townsend is a man who enjoys his peace and love just as much as he does his heaviness, he goes and does something like this. At his set at Wacken Open Air, this weekend, he orchestrated perhaps the largest group hug in heavy metal history:
A-plus, Devin! I love how the crowd slowly gets into the whole thing, as if they're not sure what to do outside of relentlessly beating the piss out of each other. There are also some boner jokes in there too because why not? If you're going to make it hilarious and awkward you might as well go all the way with it. It's also worth noting the group hug comes right after the super heavy "Juular" featuring Ihsahn, which I posted below for reference.
